Air Quality Public Consultation 2018

This survey is being run by the Projects, Programmes and Procurement Unit at Leeds City Council.

Leeds City Council is looking for the views of people living, working and commuting in Leeds and the wider region on its proposals to improve air quality and protect the health of people in the city.

Leeds - and 28 other local authorities across the country - have been identified by the government as needing to introduce solutions to meet legal air pollution limits and improve air quality within the shortest possible timescale. Nitrogen dioxide is the key pollutant of concern.

We can't see it, but air pollution has serious implications for our health. In recent years, evidence has established a direct link between a number of health issues and the quality of the air we breathe.

Time spent in areas with air pollution can worsen asthma, damage our lung function and increase hospital admissions. In particular, children, older people and people with existing health conditions are more likely to be affected.

It should take you about 10 to 20 minutes to answer all the questions. The public consultation starts on 2 January 2018. The last day that you can respond is 2 March 2018.

If you need to speak to someone about this survey then please email or telephone 0113 378 6996.
