Have Your Say - Physical and Sensory Impairment Action Plan
Background
Leeds City Council is working to become a more disability‑inclusive city. In March 2025, the Disability Inclusive Leeds programme was launched. This work is based on:
- What disabled people have told us
- Feedback from disability networks, partners and council services
- What we already know about barriers
As part of this, we are developing a Physical and Sensory Impairment (PSI) Action Plan. This plan sets out how we will:
- Improve access to services
- Remove barriers
- Make everyday life easier for people with physical and sensory impairments
We have already spoken to disabled people, carers, organisations and services. Now we want to check we are on the right track and not missing anything important.
Who this consultation is for
This consultation is for:
- People with physical impairments
- People with sensory impairments (some examples include deaf, blind, deafblind or partially sighted people)
- Carers, families and support workers
- Community groups and organisations that support disabled people
- Anyone with lived experience or knowledge of physical or sensory barriers
You do not need to be an expert. Your experience matters.
What this consultation is about
We are sharing the four priority areas in the draft Action Plan, along with some ideas about where improvements may be needed based on what people have already told us. We want to know if these priorities feel right and whether anything is missing.
The four priority areas
The draft Action Plan is grouped into four priority areas based on what people have told us. You can choose to respond to one, some, or all of them. You do not need to complete everything.
